A Japanese Satsuma ware bowl with fluted rim dating to the late Meiji period c1900. The exterior is decorated with pendulous wisteria sprays highlighted in gold. The interior features traditional buildings with a bridge and lake along with mount Fuji in the distance. It is signed to the base with a form of Shizan or Shibayama. A darkened band around the upper section both inside and outside the bowl as can be seen in the images. Minor wear typical of age and some under glaze marks. The crazing is of course intentional with Satsuma. See images for general presentation.
