For sale is a rare and exquisite 18th-century Japanese Satsuma Geisha Figurine with hallmarks linking it to the famous Iwai Satsuma workshop. The figurine features a delicately carved Geisha dressed in intricately detailed robes, holding a fan with soft colours of pink, gold, and off-white hues. Although the paint has slightly faded over time-consistent with its antique age-this only adds to the piece's authenticity and charm, making it an exceptional example of Japanese carving from the late 18th to early 19th century.

Period: Late Edo period, likely late 18th century to early 19th century. Cultural Influences: Japanese Satsuma ware with Chinese Qing Dynasty (Qianlong era) gold flower hallmarks.

Condition: The figurine is in excellent condition for its age, with slight fading of the colours due to natural ageing. Hallmarks: Authentic Iwai Satsuma hallmark and Chinese gold flower markings on the underside. This piece is a true collector's item, reflecting the artistic blend of Japanese and Chinese influences during a pivotal time in both countries' histories.

Its antique nature and exceptional craftsmanship make it a standout piece for any collection of Asian art, particularly for those who appreciate the intricate beauty of Satsuma figurines. Photos form part of the description.
