Antique Japanese Meiji Period Satsuma Kogo Box c. This is a very fine Meiji satsuma box, circa late 1800's. Supported by three boys, the box is in the form of a drum with a pair of fish applied to the lid. CONDITION chip to the tail fin, a repair to one of the boys, wear to the gilding - as per images.
The overall condition is as you would expect from an object of substantial age that has been displayed/handled/used, usually over the lifetimes of several owners. Items are packed defensively & extreme care is taken to ensure you receive goods in perfect condition.
