There is a tiny chip on the underside of the lid and minor crazing. Made in the Meiji period by Kinkozan factory and signed Kinkozan. These teapots were originally made and signed by Toritei who started producing near identical items for the Kinkozan factory and signing them Kinkozan in the same hand writing. This is a later version and it is unknown if this is made by Toritei or another craftsman working for Kinkozan who copied the design. The Kinkozan factory closed in 1927.

An original and charming period Japanese Kyo-Satsuma Antique teapot with early Kinkozan mark in Japanese Kanji. Intricately decorated with moriage birds and grasses. A Fine Example and Very Collectable.
