Meiji period's (late 19th Century) pair Satsuma vases, having a dark blue glaze ground beautifully hand decorated in gilt moriage style, with hand painted mirrored decoration depicting geishas and flowers. One is signed Gonkozan, in the other one the mark is erased. Both in good conditions, with age related wear to the gilding, in one there is a manufacturing imperfection (last photo), in the other one there is a small chip to the top, not very noticeable. Diameter at the top: 5.5cm. Diameter at the widest point: 10cm.
