An earthenware vase, of stemmed baluster form. 1868 - 1912, late 19th century. The body depicting opposing scene panels, one with figures in procession, following a Samurai on horseback and the second with birds nestled amongst the branches of a Maple tree in bloom. The diaper borders filled with rich gilt patterning atop a bold cobalt blue ground. Signed "Kinkozan" with a calligraphy seal to the underside of the base.
