3500 "Make us an offer" Listings/. Antique Meiji period Japanese Satsuma Kyoto Dish Choshuzan workshop, decorated by Jissei. Featuring arhat and lords with writhing dragon, landscape, trees, pagodas and a censor. Cherry red and gold karakusa scrollwork above. To the reverse is a Shimazu Clan symbol in gold with scrolling vine which has a Choshuzan mark to the centre. An identical copy of this plate is in the Chazen Museum of Art at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA. In excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. The dish is marked, but somehow bit scratched off in the past. We can not control this.
