I have priced this according to what I think it is worth but there are literally thousands of Satsuma vases for sale here so please feel free to make me an offer - I won't be offended! Very nice example of antique or vintage Japanese Satsuma porcelain vase in classic baluster shape with flared foot and collar, made probably late Meiji or Taisho Period (ie late C19th/early 20th Century). Very nicely decorated in colours of greens, blues, dark rusty reds, violet blues, goldy yellows, handpainted with scenes of birds amongst foliage in cartouches either side, with panels in between of of bold blocks of colours broken up with lines of gilding and white enamel dots and wavy lines. The whole vase covered in fired gilt decorative lines, flowers and finishing lines with a geometric pattern around the collar.
In excellent condition with absolutely no problems at all - just very faint rubbing to some of the gilding in places if you want to be super-fussy but honestly nothing to worry about. Beautiful crackleur to the glaze.
Please look through all the photographs. Good size at 12 inches or 30cm tall. See my other items for sale.
