Jacksons antique are pleased to offer a. Japanese Meiji period satsuma vase with four character Kinkozan mark. The vase of tapered oval form with exceptional hand painted scenes featuring a Bijin amongst flowers with a butterfly with a neatly applied dotting to the sky.
To the rear further flowers create a colourful scene. Bordered by a thickly applied gilt symmetrical pattern and a gilded floral arrangement upon a striking cobalt blue glaze. The base signed with a unique tree branch and ribbon signature covering an original firing crack from manufacture. Original firing fault to base with signature painted to cover & a couple of other firing spots.
