THE DECORATED IS BEAUTIFULLY APPLIED WITH FINE INTRICATE DETAILS FEATURING LARGE SCENIC PANELS WITH GROUPS OF MEN AND COLORFUL FLORAL BORDERS. MEASURES 8 1/2" HIGH WITH A TOP DIAMETER OF 2 3/4", MAXIMUM WIDTH OF 4 1/4" AND BASE IS 3" IN DIAMETER.
THE CONDITION IS EXCELLENT WITH NO CHIPS, CRACKS OR REPAIRS. SIGNED IN JAPANESE SCRIPT ON BASE. SATUMA IS A YELLOWISH EARTHENWARE USUALLY DECORATED WITH DETAILED JAPANESE FIGURES WITH EXPRESSIVE FACIAL FEATURES, LANDSCAPES AND SOMETIMES EMBELLISHED WITH DRAGONS IN RELIEF SUCH AS FOUND ON THIS LITTLE TREASURE.
