Exceptional Satsuma Vase by Okamoto Ryozan

Stunning Japanese Meiji period Tapering Cylindrical. Finely decorated in enamels and gilt, split in two large panels with different scenes. One of a village scene next to a mountain with blossom trees and the other of a maple tree which definitely has a less is more zen simplistic beauty which the famous Yabu Meizan is well known for. The quality of the glaze on the vase Is beautiful and thick with a silky feel in the hand. Vase height 25cm / 10in.
