FINE Japanese SATSUMA 8 1/4 VASE from MEIHI PERIOD 1868-1912 with POISON NOTICE

FINE JAPANESE SATSUMA VASE OF THE MEIHI PERIOD - 1868 - 1912 w/ TWO BLUEBIRDS & POISON NOTICE - STANDING 8 1/4 TALL. With wonderful craquelure caused from advanced aging, this fine Japanese Satsuma vase is decorated with flowers, leaves and tree branches supporting one large BLUEBIRD on each of the two main panels found on each side.

Heavenly embellished with GOLD GILT and further embellished with raised decorative beads throughout. STANDS 8 1/4" HIGH and is 4 1/4" in DIAMETER. Although not signed, the base has in crude English letters a very interesting notice which reads.

Bottom side also shows in light black numbers "1999". THREE (3) TIMES - almost looking like inscription was done in pencil.

Fabulous piece with sharp detailing. No chips or cracks present. Wear throughout consistent with age and use but overall displays nicely. Please see all photos as they are part of the description. Please note two tiny old spots (see arrows) on top rim resultant during the production process.
