Japanese Satsuma Millefleurs High Quality Bowl Late Meiji Superb condition
The decoration is superbly done. The work is both densely painted and beautifully done. Unusually it is signed with the Kutani symbol but is very much Satsuma ware with the crazed glaze cream body, though the body of the bowl resembles porcelain I believe by the weight that it is very fine earthenware clay pottery, which again places the production firmly with the Satsuma region and not the Kutani kilns.
