Antique Miniature Japanese Satsuma Vase - Meiji Period. A very fine satsuma vase in a hexagonal shape, probably by Kinkosan. Amazingly and very intricately painted with a series of cartouches featuring various scenes.

The main one shows the stylised shape of a Crane with Geishas and courtiers all in various pursuits painted in polychrome colours. Another shows a handkerchief panel with a boy, Shogun and Geisha's all in splendid Kimonos. And three other panels - each resembling a fan and painted with their own figures. Gold is used to pick out highlights throughout the piece. No chips, cracks or restorations.
