Pair of Japanese Satsuma Vases with Chrysanthemum. A pair of early 20th century Japanese Satsuma ware vases.
They are hand painted with large flower heads including chrysanthemums. To the reverse sides there are small flower sprays and butterflies. The vases are hand thrown as well as hand painted and have slight differences due to this which you can probably make out in the images. These likely date to the Taisho period and are unmarked. Fine crazing which is intentional on Satsuma ware. Minor wear, gilt very good for period.Minor differences due to their hand thrown and hand painted nature. Height: 21 cm (8 1/4 inch). Width: 10 cm (4 inch).
