Antique Satsuma Bowl - Amaterasu & Dragon- Signed - Gilded 19th Century Meiji. Stunning and rare Meiji Period Satsuma bowl containing supreme Shinto Goddess Amaterasu with and attendant and dragon.

Hand painted and gilded showing elaborately detailed dress and features. Brilliant gold colours when viewed in natural sun light. Please refer to the two sets of photos.

Diameter - 7.5 inches. Condition: Good, it has had one minor chip which has been professionally restored by Kintsugi method/ Japanese art of "golden repair", adding to its charm and history. Signed underneath by original artists.
