Stunning Early 1900's Japanese Satsuma Tea Set (Geisha Lithophanes) 19 Pieces

Beautiful Vintage Japanese Dragon Lithophane Geisha Tea Set - Serves 6, 19-Piece. This is a fantastic set, attractive and very delicate. The cups and saucers are made from Egg-Shell porcelain and are translucent allowing for the Lithophane image of a Geisha to appear in the base of each cup when held to the light, a lovely feature. The set has been regularly used and well cared for. There is evidence of natural age-related wear on the cups and saucers in the form of lightly worn paint and lip gilding, both of which add to the character.

Other than that the cups and saucers are in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or hairlines. The sugar bowl and milk jug display no wear and are free from cracks, chips and hairlines, being in excellent condition.

The Tea/Coffee pot is in general excellent condition save for one very small chip on the spout lip. This fault is barely visible and does not impair use. This is a small scale set in terms of dimensions with the following. Cup - Diameter 7.5 cm, height 4 cm. Saucer - Diameter 11.5 cm.

Tea/Coffee pot - Height 18cm. Sugar bowl - Height 9 cm. Milk jug - Height 8 cm.
