Antique Japanese Satsuma Moriage Kutani Geisha Dragon Ware Tea Set. Antique 21 piece Japanese Satsuma Dragon/Geisha Tea Set. Produced in Japan from the end of the 1800s. They were decorated using a technique that lays beads of porcelain on the item prior to kiln firing, and then it was meticulously hand-painted with extravagant details. The handles and spout are fashioned to resemble a dragon, finly textured and incredible level of detail througough.

This set includes: 1 teapot (approx 7:1/2" high) 1 small teapot (approx 6" high) 1 sugar pot? (6" high) 6 cups (approx 2" high, 3:3/4" dia) 6 saucers (5:1/2" dia) 6 plates (7 dia) The tea cups have lithophanes inside on the bottom of the cup, a raised design, of a Geisha. There are no chips or scratches.

In the maroon colouring there are a few small what look like water spot marks (can be seen in a couple of the photographs). The set will be packaged very carefully so that it gets to you in the same condition it left me. A couple of big boxes and a lot of protection will be used.
