A Japanese Satsuma teapot with floral decoration, possibly early to mid 20th century? Measures 12cm tall and 21cm from spout to handle.
Arked to the base with a Shimazu family crest above a black cartouche with the makers signature. There is typical fine crazing throughout the piece; the rim of the spout and the rim of the lid both have a tiny chip (photos 17 & 18) and there is a little wear to the decoration under the base (photos 19 & 20).
